Skiing, Snowboarding and Cross-Country Skiing

 

From the chalet it is possible to ski down directly to the Nyon cable car which

leads into the Les Gets ski area, or you can take the free shuttle bus from outside the door to access Morzine-Avoriaz.

 

Morzine is in the heart of the Porte du Soleil, one of the largest ski areas in the world with over 600km of pistes connecting 12 villages in both France and Switzerland.

 

With such a wealth of options, there is something for everyone from beginner to expert for both skiers and snow-boarders, including:

 

  • 285 slopes: 32 black, 100 red, 122 blue, 31 green

  • 196 mountain lifts

  • 400 km²

  • 11 snowparks/ boarder-cross/ ski-cross

  • 90 slopeside restaurants

Cross-Country Skiing

The chalet is situated in the Vallee de la Manche cross-country ski area which has 25km of challenging circuits, and is the premier location in the region with its mix of flat and steep scenic trails.  Sitting on the sunny balcony you can watch the skiers going along as they pass within 20 metres of the house.  

 

In addition three other areas easily accessible from the chalet: Morzine-Avoriaz at Parc Naturel des Crêtes de Zorre with up to 47km for all levels, Lake Montriond with 10km of Canadian-style runs and the Pléney - Chavannes sector with 18km of forest runs.

 

ESF Morzine run twice daily cross country ski excursions (including transport) at 9.30am and 12.00pm, but there are other Ski Schools who offer Cross Country skiing lessons too. Just outside the valley you can also go to Les Contamines, Les Saisies, Chamonix and Val Ferret (in Italy, via the Mont Blanc Tunnel).
